Visitor Information
Vintage tram rides throughout
the day from Fisherman's Walk to Thornton Gate, Cleveleys and return.
Our
Festival has been in existence over twenty years. At the time it seemed appropriate to
capitalise on the fact that Fleetwood was the only Town in England with Trams running
down its main street. It quickly developed into the huge event that it is today. It is a
Transport Festival, a Fun Day and also a day when Charity stalls literally collect tens
of thousands of pounds.
The event is self-funding. The bulk of the income comes from local businesses, charity
stalls and trade stands. Our main outgoings are road closures, bands, entertainers,
plaques to all entrants, printing, postage, communications, first aid and insurance. The
Committee members are all Volunteers.

Town Criers A large, loud and colourful gathering of town criers from all
parts of the country.

Rally Control and Public Address These are situated in Albert Square near
Rowntree Clock. They are there to answer your queries and to look after lost children.
Programmes may be purchased from there. If you are a collector of programmes and plaques,
we still have a few left from previous years (not all!). Please do not hesitate to use
this service.

Charity Stalls and Sponsors Please support these people where possible.
They have all contributed to this Festival. Do not purchase from people lurking in the
back alleys or selling from suitcases. They are depriving genuine traders and stalls from
earning a living.

Military Displays For security reasons, displays are all mounted together
around the Euston Park, Euston Crescent and Bold Street Area. The Military always put on
an excellent display of exhibits. Do not miss this part of our Festival.

St John Ambulance We are fortunate to have no less than four separate first
aid posts. These will be found at Mount Street, Rally Control, near Hotel Elizabeth North
Euston and Fisherman's Walk.

Model Railway Exhibition This will be found at the Milton Street Community
Centre. Well worth a visit!

Miniature Railway These will run along Mount Street and Adelaide
Street.

Kiddies Funfairs, Rides etc. Almost too numerous to mention but look out
for the attractions in Euston Gardens, Adelaide Street and Styan Street. A popular
attraction for the kids is the giant slide at Fisherman's Walk. There will also be
Amusements in London Street.

Music and Entertainments The usual wide variety - bands of every
description, dancers, singers etc. Coupled with these entertainers will be a large group
of town criers who will be announcing the various attractions throughout the day.
